Overview
The HLR Emulator is a fully compliant HLR as defined by the ETSI and the ITU-T. It supports the legacy mobile core network functionality.
The HLR Emulator offers all the MAP services provided by a field proven and reliable HLR.
Its strong flexibility in terms of hardware platform, capacity extension and release upgrades (ITU-T, ETSI) makes it a perfect and future proof choice to cover the requirements for the standard mobile core network.
The HLR Emulator is a SAFIRE based stand-alone application that can be integrated in any lab or live network, or be used for any field test, customer presentation or exhibition.

Description
The HLR Emulator was designed to be a complete solution for providing all the MAP services for the legacy mobile core networks. It has the key components:
- HLR Emulator including stacks (MAP, SIGTRAN, SS7)
- MAP, SIGTRAN & SS7 Protocol Analyzer
The HLR Emulator uses the powerful SAFIRE environment to provide advanced features like
- Automated database management based on incoming queries
- Graphical User Interface for editing and configuring the interface & user data
- Real-time, high performance protocol analysis
The HLR Emulator includes the following standard MAP procedures
- Location Management (Update Location, Update GPRS Location, Cancel Location, Purge MS)
- Subscriber Management (Insert Subscriber Data)
- Identity Management (Provide IMSI)
- Authentication Management (Send Authentication Info, Authentication Failure Report)
- Call Handling (Send Routing Information, Provide Roaming Number)
- Network-Requested PDP Context Activation (Send Routing Info for GPRS, Failure Report)
- Fault Recovery (Reset)
