Overview

The Intelligent Networks Protocol Analyzer is a SAFIRE Tracer Plug-In for decoding Intelligent Networks signaling according to the protocol specifications provided by ITU-T, ETSI, ANSI, national and proprietary standards.

This module also includes Intelligent Networks specific event masks for filtering, triggering, counting and searching, both for online and offline processing of captured data.

Description

The Intelligent Networks Protocol Analyzer decodes the captured signaling layer-by-layer, with configurable detail levels (off, hex, min, med, max) for each layer. There are several predefined settings from single-line decode, displaying only the key information of the entire Intelligent message (message type, called party number), up to maximum mode, which presents every bit-field in a layer with value translation.

The flexible stack definition provides an automatic selection of the protocols above TCAP (INAP variant or Capability Set)  depending on the SCCP Sub System Number and on the TCAP Application Context Name fields.

For more advanced capture and post-processing of messages there are filter, trigger, counter and search features, based on Intelligent Networks specific event masks with parameters such as Message Type, Called Party Number, allowing:

• filter messages from a specific IN service,
• count successful and unsuccessful IN transactions,
• trigger capturing the messages for a call by a specific subscriber.

The Intelligent Networks call trace feature automatically finds all the signaling events related to a specific TCAP transaction
